Are you as excited as I am for AWANA to begin? You may be asking "Just what is AWANA?"
AWANA is an acrostic for the words from 2 Timothy 2:15 in the Bible: Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. It is a program for children to have fun and learn God's Word.
Leaders from several churches in the Copper River Valley work together at the Glennallen Community Chapel with children from 3 years to 6th grade each Wednesday from 6:30 - 8 PM, during most of the school year. The children are divided into Cubbies (3-4 years old), Sparks (K-2 grade), and Truth & Training (grades 3-6) divided by boys/girls. Each group has a time of games, a large group time of Bible instruction, and a small group time for memorizing God's Word and learning how to apply what they learn.
Our new club year begins with a Bonfire / S'mores Kickoff at 6:30 on Wednesday the 26th of September. While kids are enjoying the bonfire and games in their small / large group times, parents have the opportunities to register their children, to look over sample books and uniforms, and order items for their own children.
If you have any questions, please call the GCC office at 822-3499.
