Statement of Faith
- We believe that the Bible is God-breathed, the only inspired Word of God. It is fully trustworthy and the final authority for all matters of faith and conduct. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21)
- We believe that there is one true God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14)
- We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died in our place, rose from the dead, and ascended to heaven where He ministers on our behalf. (John 1:1-18; Romans 3:21-26: Philippians 2:5-11)
- We believe in the person and ministry of the Holy Spirit. By His power the repentant sinner becomes a new creation, is enabled to live victoriously over sin, and is spiritually gifted for ministry to others. (John 16:5-15; Romans 8:9-11; I Cor. 6:19-20; I Peter 4:10)
- We believe that every person has value because each one is created in the image of God. All are sinful from birth and hopelessly separated from God apart from the work of Jesus Christ. He paid the penalty for sin once for all by His death on the cross. One can only be saved by grace through faith in the person of Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:26-27; John 1:12; 3:16; Romans 3:22-24; Ephesians 2:8-9; Colossians 3:9-11; I Peter 3:18a)
- We believe that Christ is the head of the church, which is His body. It is made up of all who have placed their faith in Him. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by exalting Jesus Christ. Believers demonstrate their identity with the body of Christ by their commitment to the local church. (Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 1:22-23; Hebrews 10:23-25)
- We believe all angels were created to be servants of God. Many angels followed Satan when he rebelled against God. He opposes God and seeks the destruction of His church. Through Christ’s death on the cross, Satan’s ultimate defeat is certain. (Colossians 1:16; 2:13-15; Hebrews 1:14; I Peter 5:8; Revelation 12:7-12)
- We believe in the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ for His church, when believers will meet Him in the air. This will be followed by His coming again to establish His kingdom on earth. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 5:9-13)
- We believe in the resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous. The unrighteous will experience conscious suffering, eternally separated from God while the righteous will live in God’s presence to enjoy Him forever. (Matthew 25:31-34, 41, 46; John 5:24-29)
